The 2011 China Wood Door Industry Conference held recently revealed that the national mandatory standards for wood doors and windows, which have been drafted since 2007, are expected to be officially promulgated in the second half of 2011. Clearing the chaos of the wood industry standards has brought new opportunities for wood companies to improve their quality.

At the end of 2010, the China Consumers' Association conducted a random inspection of 21 wooden door brands on the wooden door market. The results showed that many well-known brands, including Longjia, Chunqi, etc., were on the list of substandard quality items. The major unqualified items were "impregnation and peeling. ".

The wood door industry generally uses the industrial standards promulgated by the National Development and Reform Commission in 2006. It does not require the “impregnation and stripping” project. The Chinese Consumers Association’s inspection is based on the industry standards issued by the former Ministry of Construction in 2000. The "dip-peel" indicator has strict regulations. It is precisely because of differences in the two industry standards that it has led to some quality problems in the A standard of qualified products tested using the B standard.

In the new standard, the “impregnation and peeling” index, which has caused many wood companies to suffer, will no longer exist in the new national standard. In addition, in order to be in line with international standards, the National Standard for Wood Doors and Windows will pay attention to the environmental protection index, and the control of harmful substances such as free formaldehyde will be more stringent, and the allowable value of the tolerance (ie, the allowable value difference of wooden doors) shall be appropriately reduced. This means that in the future, the wooden door companies should use the relevant standards of the reference standards to indicate the use performance indicators to the customers so that the standards of product quality can be complied with.

In addition, the new standards set a series of requirements from product classification and terminology of wooden doors and windows to product inspection, transportation, and storage. These standards not only address the needs of people in modern society and the needs of use, but also strive to establish the same with the existing style.
