Ultra HD, which is now strongly promoted, may gradually abandon the signal below 2K and only push the signal of 4K or more. According to the prediction of relevant institutions, the development of China's ultra-high-definition video from 2018 to 2022 will bring about an industrial scale increase of 2.5 trillion yuan. Xu Zheng said that from the panel point of view, the problem of 4K and 8K is not big, but the panel is only a rendering carrier. If the signal acquisition, recording and transmission are less than 4K and 8K, it is still a one-stop project. .

In Xu Zheng's view, this is exactly the intention of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to form the China Super HD Video Industry Alliance. The holding of major international events is often an important catalyst for the development of high-definition video products. In order to welcome the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Japan's NHK opened 4K/8K TV broadcasts; and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics may also become an important driving force for the development of China's 4K/8K ultra-HD industry.

At the above-mentioned meeting, the Guangdong Provincial Economic and Information Technology Commission and the Beijing Municipal Commission for Economic and Information Technology introduced the development of local 4K video applications and 8K ultra-high definition displays.
