Anti-dumping Australian plastic protection

The Australian federal government will set up an anti-dumping committee to take stringent measures to protect its own manufacturing industries. Australian plastic products will be protected by anti-dumping measures.

In the past year, the Australian Customs and Border Protection Authority in Canberra conducted a dumping investigation of PVC homopolymer resins exported from South Korea to Australia. At the same time, the Australian government also conducted anti-dumping review of PVC products from Japan and the United States.

Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard said in a statement that the Australian government will allocate a total of 24.4 million Australian dollars in the next 4 years, and the Australian government will adopt more stringent measures for foreign companies who deliberately avoid anti-dumping rules.

The Australian government will introduce legislation in 2013 to set up an anti-dumping committee in Melbourne to conduct a complaint investigation and report directly to the Federal Ministry of the Interior. Gillard said that in Australia, nearly one million citizens are engaged in manufacturing, and this industry is currently being affected by factors such as the weak economy in Europe, increased international competition, and the oversupply of some traded goods.
