In the high-voltage long-distance transmission tower, high-strength and anti-corrosion structural steel pipes have been tested in Dalian, Guangzhou, Wuxi, Shanghai and other places, and will soon be held for promotion and application. The triangular tower structure made of cold-formed steel for the communication tower is also under development.
Sheet pile
The application of steel sheet piles is very common in foreign countries and is mainly used for rivers and seaside berms, building foundations and trench construction. However, China has neither product standards nor construction specifications, and it is not possible to apply cold-formed steel. At present, hot-rolled channel steel and I-beam are used instead. In the next step, the user industry will prepare construction specifications to fill the gap in the Chinese steel sheet pile market.
Mechanically produced cold-formed steel has great market potential in the machinery manufacturing industry, especially in the automotive industry, but there are not many varieties developed in China, such as: car panels, bus keels, car doors and windows, drive shafts, exhaust Pipes, shock absorbers, truck girders, etc., as well as bumpers, various bends on cars, have not used cold-formed steel.

According to the national standard, there are 353 column specifications. In 2002, the amount of steel used was 350,000 tons, and in 2005 it will reach 840,000 tons.

The channel steel (including inner crimping channel steel, outer crimping channel steel, and unequal edge channel steel) has a specification of 20×10-400×50mm, t=1.5-6mm, and 88 standard specifications. Angle steel (including unequal angle steel, inner rolled steel) specifications are 20 × 20-150 × 75mm, t = 1.2-6mm, standard specifications 45. The specifications of I-beam (including inner crimping and asymmetric I-beam) are 80×40-250×75, t=2-5mm, and 23 standard specifications. According to the national standard, cold-formed steel is used for 173 specifications of open-ended steel for steel structures. In 2002, the amount of steel used was 440,000 tons, and in 2005 it will reach 1.05 million tons.
