The first Shanghai International Digital Manufacturing Exhibition (SIMS 2004) will be held from November 4 to 9, 2004. Digital Manufacturing Exhibition is a newly established professional exhibition in the 6th Shanghai International Industry Fair. With the theme of “presenting the road of industrialization driven by informatization and representing the technological development direction of equipment manufacturing industryâ€, it promotes CNC machine tools and digital manufacturing technologies with international advanced level with the exhibition as the platform. On June 21st, the organizer of the Digital Manufacturing Exhibition, the Machinery Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, held a conference on some high-tech exhibits in Beijing. At the meeting, the Special Adviser of the Machinery Industry Federation Lu Yanxi (former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Machinery Industry) delivered an important speech at the meeting, explaining the significance of holding a digital manufacturing exhibition and the similarities and differences with the general machine tool exhibition.
