Permanent magnet motors are synchronous motors. The rotor uses permanent magnets, the stator generates electromagnetic torque to push the rotor's magnetic field to rotate around the axis, and the stator and rotor magnetic fields are synchronized. Induction motors are asynchronous motors, which are alternating-current motors in which the rotating magnetic field formed by the stator winding interacts with the magnetic field of the induced current in the rotor winding to generate electromagnetic torque to drive the rotor to rotate. So what are the advantages of asynchronous motors?
The first advantage of asynchronous motor:
Can tolerate large changes in operating temperature. On the contrary, large changes in temperature will damage the permanent magnet motor.
Two advantages of asynchronous motors:
The output torque of the asynchronous motor can be adjusted in a wide range, so there is no need to install a second set or even a third set of transmission mechanisms. It can forcibly increase the output torque during acceleration or climbing (although the time is very short), and the electric vehicle of the permanent magnet motor must output more torque through the gear box to achieve the speed increase.
Three advantages of asynchronous motors:
Small size and light weight. On the one hand, due to the wide range of temperature tolerance, the electric motor does not need to be installed with radiators, cooling fans, water pumps and related pipelines like other electric vehicles. On the other hand, there is no need to install redundant transmission mechanisms. Therefore, the volume and weight of its motor are greatly reduced. The asynchronous motor is similar in size to watermelon and weighs only 52 kg.
