Analysis on the Output of Grid-connected PV Power Plants in Golmud, Qinghai Province

Golmud is located in Haixi, Qinghai Province. The area is a continental plateau climate with low temperature, large temperature difference between day and night, less rainfall and concentration, long sunshine, and strong solar radiation. Golmud has a large number of state-owned land that has not been used for desertification. The terrain is open and flat, and the surface vegetation is scarce, which is suitable for the development of large-scale photovoltaic power plants.

Figure 1: Location map of Golmud

According to the hourly electricity generation data of a 30MW photovoltaic power station in Golmud, the output of the photovoltaic power station is briefly analyzed.

I. Solar energy resources in Golmud

The annual total annual solar radiation in the Golmud region is between 1800kwh/m2~1998kwh//m2, and the average monthly total radiation is between 89.6~214.7kWh/m2 for many years, with the highest in May and the lowest in December.

II. Brief analysis of photovoltaic power plant output in Golmud

1, the average annual net output

Figure 3: Average annual hourly output of Golmud PV power plant

As can be seen from the above figure, the photovoltaic power station generates electricity during the day from 7:00 to 20:00 during the day, and the output during other hours is 0. The maximum output occurs from 12:00 to 15:00, accounting for about 55% of the day. .

2. Timely grid-connected output under different weather conditions

Figure 5: Golmud Photovoltaic Power Station Cloudy Hourly Output

From the above figure, it can be seen that, under the influence of light, the output of photovoltaic power plants in the same month is brighter than in cloudy conditions, and under cloudy conditions, the output of photovoltaic power plants fluctuates greatly.

3. Monthly maximum grid-connected output throughout the year

Figure 6: Monthly maximum output of Golmud Photovoltaic Power Plant

From the above figure, we can see that the solar energy resources in the Golmud region are very rich, and the PV power plant output level is good. The maximum output reaches 283.7MW, accounting for about 95% of the total installed capacity.

Third, the summary

Photovoltaic power plant output is affected by solar energy resources, with regularity and volatility. The output of photovoltaic power plants in the Golmud area is basically distributed from 7:00 to 20:00, and the maximum output is from 12:00 to 15:00. Cloudy photovoltaic power plant output fluctuations, the annual maximum output reached 283.7MW, nearly full of fat.
