During the interview, many sales staff said that the wallpapers sold in the store were environmentally qualified products that passed quality inspection. A well-known wallpaper shop sales staff told reporters that the wallpaper itself is not a problem, the main problem in the auxiliary material - the base film to protect the wall and glue used to stick wallpaper. She introduced that the base film used in the store is water-based, and the glue is also glutinous rice glue, all of which meet the environmental protection standards.

Ms. Huang, who has been engaged in interior design for many years, told reporters that the hidden danger of wallpaper lies in the addition of plasticizers to the production. The evaporation of these substances into the air has certain teratogenic and carcinogenic risks to the organism. Ms. Huang introduced that although the glutinous rice adhesives used in the market are relatively environmentally friendly, they still add formaldehyde as a preservative.

However, formaldehyde in this type of adhesive has two characteristics: First, the release is relatively low, and second, the release period of formaldehyde is relatively short, generally about six months. Some families have a certain odor after installing wallpapers on a large area. When a family with a warm floor turns on the floor, people will feel uncomfortable when they stay in the house.

“The degree of environmental protection and the price of the wallpaper are not directly related to each other.” Ms. Huang reminded that the quality of the wallpaper purchased in the regular store was more reliable.
