3.2 The latest developments in the country

Although the development of China's remanufacturing industry is late, it has a very good momentum. It has become one of the most important remanufacturing centers in the world, and has been at the forefront of the world in basic theoretical research and technology application development.

In terms of remanufacturing policies. In June 1999, Academician Xu Binshi made a special report on "Surface Engineering and Remanufacturing Technology" at the "International Conference on Advanced Manufacturing Technology" held in Xi'an, China. He first proposed the concept of "remanufacturing" in China.

In 2000, “Remanufacturing Engineering Technology and Theoretical Research” was listed as a “10th Five-Year” priority development field by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, marking the basic research of remanufacturing has been valued and recognized by the state; in 2005, “ Resource recycling manufacturing and remanufacturing has been listed as a priority development area in the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the academic status of remanufacturing has been further consolidated.

In terms of remanufacturing practices. In terms of remanufacturing industrialization. China has basically built a remanufacturing industry, and more and more specialized remanufacturing companies have emerged. In 2008 alone, nearly 30 remanufacturing companies were listed in the field of mechanical products, such as the Second Automobile Cummins Engine Remanufacturing Company and the Guangxi Yuchai Engine Remanufacturing Company. At present, the engine remanufacturing company Jinan Fuqiang Power Co., Ltd. is the largest remanufacturing company in China, specializing in Steyr, Cummins, Mitsubishi and other models, especially the remanufacturing of heavy-duty engines. After becoming a demonstration pilot of the national circular economy in 2005, the company strengthened cooperation with the National Defense Science and Technology Key Laboratory of equipment remanufacturing technology, applying the latest nano surface engineering technology and automated surface engineering technology to the production line, significantly improving the used engine. The remanufacturing level and remanufacturing rate have now reached an annual capacity of 25,000 engines for remanufacturing. Our army is very important for remanufacturing. In recent years, we have established the first military vehicle remanufacturing production line of the entire army in a military factory. The re-manufacturing capacity of the first-class annual re-manufacturing capacity is nearly 10,000, mainly for Dongfeng, Liberation, Hongyan, Jetta, Engine remanufacturing of Santana, Cheetah and other models.
