In order to prevent the summer coolant temperature from being too high, the following aspects should be noted during the use of the vehicle:
(1) Correct use of closed cooling system
Modern automotive engines use a closed cooling system, the radiator cover is sealed and an expansion tank is added. When the engine is working, the coolant vapor enters the expansion tank, and then flows back to the radiator after cooling, which prevents a large amount of evaporation loss of the coolant and increases the boiling temperature of the coolant. This cooling system should use a high-quality coolant with anti-corrosion, anti-boiling, anti-freezing and anti-scaling, and must be sealed in order to receive the effect.
(2) Keep the cooling system external and internal clean
This is one of the important conditions for improving the heat dissipation performance. When the outside of the radiator is stained with dirt, oil, or heat sink, it will affect the passage of the wind. The heat dissipation effect of the radiator will be poor, causing the coolant temperature to be too high. Therefore, this situation should be cleaned or trimmed in time. In addition, when scale, mud or oil is accumulated in the cooling system, it will affect the heat transfer of the coolant. Adding inferior coolant or water will cause an increase in the scale of the cooling system, and the heat transfer capacity of the scale is only a few tenths of that of the metal, so that the cooling effect is deteriorated. Therefore, a good quality coolant should be added to the cooling system.
(3) Keep the amount of coolant sufficient When the engine is cold, the coolant level should be between the highest and lowest signs of the expansion tank. If the liquid level is lower than the lowest mark of the expansion tank, it should be added in time. Note that the coolant in the expansion tank cannot be filled and there should be room for expansion.
(4) Keep the fan tape tension moderate
The fan tape is too loose, causing the pump speed to be too low, affecting the circulation of the coolant and accelerating the wear of the tape. However, the tape is too tight and the pump bearing will wear out. In addition, the tape should not be stained with oil. Therefore, the tension of the fan tape should be checked regularly. When checking, press the middle of the tape with your thumb, about 98N force. If the tape deflection is about 10-15mm, it indicates that the fan tape tension is appropriate. Otherwise, adjustments should be made. When adjusting, you can move the position of the generator positioning bolt to change the tension of the tape, as shown in Figure 3. If a new fan tape is replaced, the tape deflection is about 8-10mm when the tension is detected.
(5) Avoid excessive engine load during long working hours. When the engine load is too high, the coolant temperature will be too high. For example, some cars with low power, the owner of the car to increase the throttle for the multi-pulley run, some cars in the summer to make the air conditioner run for a long time, etc., are likely to cause the engine "open pot" phenomenon. Therefore, when the car needs high-power operation (such as climbing the slope), in order to prevent the engine temperature from being too high, it should be replaced into the low-speed gear in time to reduce the engine load.
