Trina Solar Monocrystalline Module Output World Record

On April 8, 2014, Trina Solar announced that its monocrystalline silicon solar photovoltaic module (60 156 mm X 156 mm monocrystalline silicon cells) has created a new world record for the output power of P-type monocrystalline silicon modules. This achievement was tested by a third-party TUV Rheinland certification authority, and the peak output power (Pmax) was as high as 326.3 watts, indicating that its mass-produced PERC (Passivated Emitter Rear Cell) single crystal silicon high-efficiency module has reached the world's leading level. The component to create this record is based on the research and development platform of the China National Key Laboratory of Photovoltaic Science and Technology at Trina Solar, using a pilot-scale mass-produced Honey Ultra high-efficiency monocrystalline solar cell film independently developed by the company.

Honey Ultra, Trina Solar's second-generation Honey technology, has created a world record for peak power production of polysilicon modules in May 2012. Based on 60 156 mm X 156 mm batteries, the peak power output of high-efficiency components is as high as 284.7W.

The company's Honey Ultra single crystal silicon high-efficiency components developed by Trina Solar have all independent intellectual property rights. As a new generation of Honey Ultra components, a number of self-developed advanced battery back passivation technology, component anti-reflection technology and component low resistance connection technology are integrated.

The successful research and development of Honey Ultra single-crystal high-efficiency components is the industry’s key laboratory for photovoltaic science and technology since its acceptance in November 2013, and has achieved 24.4% of industry-wide Backdigitated Interdigitated Backbone (IBC) batteries. After leading the level, another important milestone breakthrough has been achieved, which indicates that the world-leading PERC monocrystalline module products can be fully promoted in the market in the near future, and the scaled application of high-efficiency solar modules in the photovoltaic industry will have a positive driving effect.
